Stories documented in the racial prejudice files describe the way Jim Crow racial segregation was enforced, imposed, and fought in specific instances and varying contexts. Types of documents include photographs, legal documents, reports, letters, press releases, publications, draft articles, clippings, transcripts and writings. The majority of material in this group of folders dates from the 1920s through the 1940s.

Afro-American newspaper pages from January 21, 1939 reporting Roosevelt's attendance at "National Conference on Problems of the Negro and Negro Youth"
